3-in-1 Anvil, Wire, and Box Cutter - Carbon Steel Blades

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this three in one cutting tool. This can serve as three different tools, including an anvil cutter, a wire cutter and a box cutter. It does have heat treated carbon steel blades here that are going to be very strong and durable, very sharp, so they'll be able to cut through plastic, linoleum, shrubs, thick leather, all types of hoses, so a great option whether you're gardening or working around a shop and that anvil cutter is going to do a good job for you.It also has this titanium coated wire cutter that's going to allow you to trim a seven millimeter diameter copper, aluminum or soft steel wire, and will cut up to a four millimeter diameter nail.Personally, I don't think that's necessarily a high quality feature of this cutting tool. When I try and cut this wire here you can see it does cut partway through it, but it doesn't give a clean finish.

You got to kind of wobble that off whenever you get a disconnect, or chomp down on it a few times for it to come through, so in my mind not a big selling point for this.It does also allow you to retract that anvil just by pushing in on that upper portion there, sliding that down like so, and that will allow you to then have about 5/16ths of your blade sticking out so you can use that as a box cutter for cutting carpet or drywall or something along those lines.This is very comfortable to hold. It's very heavy duty feeling. It's got a good weight to it, so it does feel like a solid tool for you. The grip is very comfortable. You don't feel like this is going to slip out of your hands.

It does have the finger mold there for you.Then in the base you are going to have a few extra blades, a storage location for those blades here in the handle that can go in and will be able to replace this blade to make sure that we're always going to have a sharp blade for us.You can see the blade has a measurement tool on it, so depending on what you're cutting, if you need to measure it real fast to make sure that you're cutting it the right length you got that option.Overall, I'd say this is going to be a decent anvil cutter, probably a decent box cutter, being able to switch out that blade. I was not very impressed with the wire cutting capability, plus with most wire cutters you have the option to strip them as well, or at least with the ones that I use. It might not be a common feature of all of them, but I like that option better with my electrical work.So depending on what you're needing it for, I think this is going to be a high quality tool for you. It should last for a nice long time. This does push up to lock the handle in place so that you're not going to have to worry about those blades being exposed.
